So, by extension, we can conclude that a healthy lifestyle encompasses physical, mental and emotional health.   1. Improved Mental Health: Healthy eating habits and regular exercise help improve one’s mood and mental health. Interestingly, with improved mental health, one can function optimally and manage stress better.
  2. Enhanced Sleep and Increased Energy Levels: Having a wholesome diet enhances sleep quality and energy levels. This in turn uplifts one’s appearance and boosts personality.
  3. Improves Longevity: The regular practice of a healthy lifestyle increases one’s chances of living longer. The fact is that as people age, they tend to lose muscle mass and functions, which could lead to injuries and disabilities. By exercising, one can reduce loss of muscle mass and maintaining strength.
  4. Healthy Weight Loss: Exercising and eating healthy also help maintain good physique. When you eat balanced meals, you keep your weight in check and avoid the risk of becoming obese.
  5. Combats Diseases: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle helps prevent certain diseases. It is a scientifically proven fact that healthy eating and regular exercise help prevent injuries and chronic diseases.

Examples of full body exercises one can do include swimming, running, jogging, walking, dancing etc. We suggest that you find an activity you enjoy and stick to it.
  2. Get Enough Sleep: Since being healthy involves more than physical health, it is important to also pay attention to one’s mental health. One good way to do this is by getting enough sleep.
  3. Eat Fruits and Vegetables: Vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, lettuce and tomatoes help to reduce risk of cancer. In addition, pairing them with fruits help one get all the necessary nutrients the body needs to function effectively.
  4. Drink lots of Water: Water is needed to carry out major body functions, remove waste and carry nutrients round the body. By drinking lots of water, you ensure that you stay hydrated.
  5. Get Regular Check Ups: Some illnesses and diseases don’t show symptoms or signs until they are extensive. Where healthcare is available, its advisable to get regular checkups.
