It is rightly said that we are all limited by our bravery and creativity. Even though we live in a world powered by knowledge, the reality is that today’s quest for knowledge is motivated by bravery and creativity.

A tale told by Time

All through the course of history, time after time, we see that men and women have been motivated to change their world through their creativity or bravery and in some cases, both. In our post today, we take a look at an inspiring quote by Astro Teller, CEO of X, the Moonshot Factory, a company dedicated to solving the world’s hardest problems.

“The world is not limited by IQ. We are all limited by bravery and creativity.” – Astro Teller

Changing the world through Bravery and Creativity

Astro Teller was born into a family of great intellectuals. His father, Paul Teller was a teacher at the University of Chicago. Also, his grandparents were Gérard Debreu, the French Economist and Mathematician and Edward Teller, the American theoretical physicist. Astro himself, who was born in 1970 is also an intellectual, having several advanced degrees and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. Our point here is that while a persons IQ (i.e. Intelligence Quotient) is important, what really limits us is our bravery and creativity.

Final Thoughts

Bravery is not so much about what you feel as it is about what you do. It is taking courageous steps despite the fear you may be feeling. On the other hand, creativity is the use of the imagination to produce original ideas. Merging these two definitions together, we can deduce that when bravery and creativity are put together, the results are original ideas that change the world.

The question we would like to leave you with today is two-fold: Are you brave enough to take steps towards your creative ideas? and Are you creative enough to produce original ideas that will change the world? As is our custom, we urge you to give these questions some thought. Also, let us know what you think. Feel free to leave us a message in the comments section below. We would love to hear from you.

We leave you with this funny quote from Cathy Guisewite, the American cartonist

“When life gives you lemons, squirt someone in the eye.” – Cathy Guisewite
